Terms and Conditions
The Athens Negotiations Tournament (ANT) is a self-funded student negotiation simulation competition organized by the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), under the scientific supervision of Associate Professor Ilias Kapoutsis.
These Terms and Conditions govern participation in the competition under the distinctive title “ATHENS NEGOTIATIONS TOURNAMENT”, hereinafter referred to as “ANT.”
Participation in ANT presupposes the full and unconditional acceptance of the following terms:
1. ELIGIBILITY
1.1
The competition is open to currently enrolled undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students from accredited universities worldwide, participating exclusively in teams.
1.2
Each team must consist of exactly three (3) participants. Individual participation is not permitted.
1.3
Each participant may be a member of only one team. Teams will compete in negotiation simulations designed exclusively for ANT.
1.4
All participants must present valid identification (passport, national ID, or student ID with photo) at the competition venue or upon request in the case of online participation.
2. APPLICATION PROCESS
2.1
Applications must be submitted within the deadline specified in the official ANT Call for Applications, via the designated online application form.
2.2
Only complete applications will be considered.
2.3
Player substitution is allowed only in exceptional circumstances, subject to approval by the Organizing Committee, and strictly prior to the start of the tournament.
2.4
The final selection of teams is the exclusive responsibility of the Organizing Committee. Its decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
2.5
Selected teams will be notified via email after the application deadline.
3. TOURNAMENT FORMAT
3.1
ANT reserves the right to modify the competition schedule if deemed necessary for the smooth conduct of the tournament.
3.2
The competition will consist of multiple rounds, during which all teams will participate simultaneously in the same negotiation exercise.
The format (bilateral, multilateral, individual, judge-evaluated, etc.) will be announced at the beginning of each round.
3.3
The content, complexity, and evaluation criteria of each exercise are determined exclusively by the Scientific Committee of ANT.
3.4
All negotiation cases constitute intellectual property of the Scientific Committee and may not be reproduced without prior written consent.
3.5
The Organizing Committee may increase the number of participating teams if this serves the interests of the competition.
4. SCORING SYSTEM
4.1
Each exercise will be evaluated based on predefined criteria, announced in advance.
4.2
No appeals regarding scores are permitted, except in cases of clerical or calculation errors.
4.3
In the event of a tie, priority is given to the team with the higher score in quantifiable outcome exercises. If the tie persists, the winner will be determined by draw.
5. PENALTIES & CONDUCT
5.1
Teams must be present on time. Failure to appear results in a score of zero (0) for the respective round.
5.2
Failure to submit a valid agreement within the allotted time results in zero (0) points, unless otherwise decided by the Organizing Committee.
5.3
Violation of the rules, actions that may harm the reputation of ANT, or unprofessional or inappropriate behavior may lead to the disqualification of the entire team.
6. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
6.1
ANT, the Organizing Committee, the Scientific Committee, sponsors, and volunteers bear no liability for damages or losses arising from participation, except in cases of intentional misconduct.
6.2
All participants and coaches take part at their own risk. ANT does not provide insurance coverage of any kind.
7. AWARDS & CERTIFICATES
7.1
All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.
7.2
Teams placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd will receive Certificates of Distinction.
7.3
ANT is not obliged to award monetary or material prizes.
8. PERSONAL DATA & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
8.1
Personal data submitted during the application process are processed by Athens University of Economics and Business, in compliance with GDPR (EU) 2016/679 and applicable national legislation.
8.2
Collected data may include names, contact details, CV information, identification documents, photos, and audiovisual material.
ANT may use audiovisual content for educational and promotional purposes of the University.
8.3
Data processing is based on explicit consent, which may be withdrawn at any time by contacting world.ant@aueb.gr
8.4
Participants retain all rights provided under GDPR, including access, rectification, and erasure.
8.5
Data are retained only for as long as necessary and are not used for automated profiling.
8.6
Where required, anonymized data may be shared with competent public authorities.
8.7
The competent supervisory authority in Greece is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).
9. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
9.1
By submitting an application, each participant fully and unconditionally accepts these Terms and Conditions.
9.2
Participation in ANT is a privilege, not a right. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to revoke participation if necessary to ensure the integrity of the tournament.
